Tools: Import, Export, and Maintenance Actions
The Tools tab provides import functionality for migrating SEO data from other SEO plugins and uninstall cleanup options. Use it to transition from Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO, Slim SEO, or The SEO Framework to SEOvault AI, and to control what happens when you delete the plugin.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Go to SEOvault AI > General > Tools.
Import SEO data from other plugins
Section titled “Import SEO data from other plugins”The import tool migrates SEO meta data from supported SEO plugins into SEOvault AI. This lets you switch from another SEO plugin without losing your existing SEO work.
Supported plugins
Section titled “Supported plugins”- Yoast SEO
- Rank Math
- All in One SEO (AIOSEO)
- Slim SEO
- The SEO Framework
How migration works
Section titled “How migration works”The import tool:
- Detects which supported SEO plugins are active or have data
- Shows the number of posts and terms with SEO data available for import
- Migrates SEO titles, meta descriptions, and other meta data
- Does not delete the source plugin’s data — your original data stays intact
- Shows progress during migration with a progress bar and log
Start a migration
Section titled “Start a migration”- Go to SEOvault AI > General > Tools
- Look for the “Import SEO Data from Other Plugins” section
- If a supported plugin is detected, it appears with:
- Plugin name
- Total items available for import
- Post count and term count breakdown
- Click Start Migration to begin importing all SEO data
- Watch the progress bar and log for status updates
Import global settings
Section titled “Import global settings”Some plugins have global settings (like default title templates, separator characters, etc.). To import these:
- In the Tools tab, find the plugin you want to import from
- Click Import Global Settings (next to the Start Migration button)
- Global settings are imported separately from post/term data
What gets imported
Section titled “What gets imported”The migration imports:
- SEO titles
- Meta descriptions
- Focus keywords (if supported by the source plugin)
- Canonical URLs
- Noindex/nofollow directives
- Open Graph and Twitter card data
- Schema markup (where compatible)
- Term meta (category and tag SEO data)
After migration
Section titled “After migration”Once migration completes:
- Your SEO data is now in SEOvault AI
- The source plugin still has its original data
- You can deactivate the source plugin if SEOvault AI is working correctly
- Test a few posts to verify the data migrated correctly before deactivating
No plugins detected
Section titled “No plugins detected”If no supported SEO plugins are detected, you’ll see:
“No supported SEO plugins detected for migration.”
This means either:
- No supported SEO plugins are installed
- The installed plugins have no SEO data to import
- The plugins are not recognized by the migration detector
