Use SEOvault AI with Elementor

SEOVault AI integrates with Elementor to provide SEO metadata editing directly within the Elementor editor. This allows you to manage SEO settings without leaving the page builder interface.

Integration overview

The SEOvault AI Elementor integration:

  • Adds an SEO panel to the Elementor editor
  • Provides compact SEO field controls
  • Saves metadata via AJAX without page reload
  • Supports Elementor v4 Atomic Editor
  • Includes real-time SEO assessment
  • Works with all public post types

Accessing the SEO panel

The SEOvault AI panel appears in the Elementor editor when:

  • Elementor is active
  • SEOvault AI is active
  • The current user has edit permissions for the post
  • The post type is public and not excluded
  • SEO output is enabled (not in manual mode with auto-generation disabled)

To access:

  1. Open a page or post in Elementor editor
  2. Click the SEOvault AI button in the editor sidebar
  3. The SEO panel will slide in with SEO fields

SEO panel features

The SEO panel provides compact controls for:

Search appearance

Section titled “Search appearance”
  • SEO title — Custom title for search engines
  • SEO description — Meta description for search results
  • Focus keyword — Primary keyword for the page

Canonical URL

Section titled “Canonical URL”
  • Canonical URL — Specify the canonical URL to prevent duplicate content issues

Robots directives

Section titled “Robots directives”
  • Noindex this page — Prevent search engines from indexing this page
  • Nofollow links on this page — Tell search engines not to follow links on this page

Social sharing

Section titled “Social sharing”
  • Social title — Custom title for social media shares
  • Social description — Custom description for social media
  • Social image — Custom image for social media shares

Real-time assessment

Section titled “Real-time assessment”

The SEO panel includes real-time SEO assessment showing:

  • Title length — Character count with status indicator
  • Description length — Character count with status indicator
  • Overall status — Good, Okay, Needs Work, or Unknown

Status indicators help you optimize your content for search engines.

Using the SEO panel

Setting SEO title

Section titled “Setting SEO title”
  1. Open the SEOvault AI panel
  2. Enter your custom SEO title
  3. The character count updates in real-time
  4. Status indicator shows if the length is optimal
  5. Click Save to persist changes

Setting SEO description

  1. Open the SEOvault AI panel
  2. Enter your meta description
  3. The character count updates in real-time
  4. Status indicator shows if the length is optimal
  5. Click Save to persist changes

Setting focus keyword

  1. Open the SEOvault AI panel
  2. Enter your primary focus keyword
  3. Use the keyword naturally in your content
  4. Click Save to persist changes

Configuring canonical URL

  1. Open the SEOvault AI panel
  2. Enter the canonical URL
  3. Use absolute URLs (e.g., https://example.com/page)
  4. Click Save to persist changes

Setting robots directives

  1. Open the SEOvault AI panel
  2. Check Noindex this page to prevent indexing
  3. Check Nofollow links on this page to prevent link following
  4. Click Save to persist changes

Configuring social sharing

  1. Open the SEOvault AI panel
  2. Enter custom social title and description
  3. Select or upload a social image
  4. Click Save to persist changes

Elementor v4 Atomic Editor support

The integration supports Elementor’s v4 Atomic Editor:

  • Automatically detects Atomic Editor mode
  • Shows a status indicator when Atomic Editor is active
  • Ensures compatibility with both classic and Atomic workflows
  • Maintains SEO data across editor modes

Saving behavior

Section titled “Saving behavior”

SEO metadata is saved via AJAX:

  • Changes are saved without page reload
  • Only modified fields are updated
  • Partial saves don’t erase existing data
  • Save confirmation appears in the panel

Auto-save

Section titled “Auto-save”

The panel does not auto-save. You must click Save to persist changes.

Returning to Elementor

Click Back to Elementor to close the SEO panel and return to the Elementor editor.

Template variables

The SEO panel respects your configured template variables:

  • Auto-generated titles and descriptions appear as placeholders
  • You can override auto-generated values with custom content
  • Template variables work the same as in the WordPress admin

Post type support

The integration works with all public post types:

  • Pages
  • Posts
  • Custom post types (if public)
  • Excludes: attachments and other excluded types

Permissions

The SEO panel only appears for users with:

  • edit_post capability for the current post
  • Access to the Elementor editor
  • Appropriate user role permissions

Troubleshooting

SEO panel not appearing

If the SEOvault AI panel is not visible in Elementor:

  1. Verify Elementor is active
  2. Verify SEOvault AI is active
  3. Check that you have edit permissions for the post
  4. Ensure the post type is public
  5. Check that SEO output is enabled (not in manual mode)
  6. Clear browser cache and try again

Changes not saving

If changes are not persisting:

  1. Verify you clicked the Save button
  2. Check browser console for JavaScript errors
  3. Verify your user session is active
  4. Check that the post is not locked by another user
  5. Try refreshing the editor

Assessment not updating

If the SEO assessment is not updating:

  1. Verify you have entered content in the fields
  2. Check that character counts are within limits
  3. Refresh the panel by closing and reopening
  4. Clear browser cache

Panel not loading

If the panel fails to load:

  1. Check browser console for errors
  2. Verify AJAX endpoint is accessible
  3. Check for plugin conflicts
  4. Disable other SEO plugins temporarily
  5. Verify WordPress REST API is enabled

The SEO panel is ideal for:

  • Quick title and description updates
  • Social media optimization
  • Canonical URL configuration
  • Robots directive changes

Use WordPress admin for complex tasks

For more complex SEO tasks, use the WordPress admin:

  • Bulk editing
  • Template configuration
  • Advanced schema settings
  • Integration settings

Keep titles and descriptions optimal

Follow the guidelines shown in the panel:

  • Titles: 50-60 characters
  • Descriptions: 150-160 characters
  • Use keywords naturally
  • Write compelling copy for clicks

Test your changes

After making changes:

  • Use the Rich Results Test to verify schema
  • Check Google Search Console for indexing
  • Preview social shares with social media debuggers
  • Monitor search performance
